Summary/Description[]
A shy little girl is having trouble making friends or even playing with them if she has/had. Will Cricket know how to help?
Plot[]
Cricket was playing with Cookie when her big sister brought out a box of stuffed toys. They went through them from toy delivery truck to Butterbean's favorite toy Cubbie. The latter pulled out Cricket's own favorite toy – Cinnamon. Cricket became a bit puzzled when Dazzle said the toys would be great for children to play. Her big sister added that some group of parents are coming later today and she thought it'll be fun if kids have something to play with. Dazzle asked Cricket some info about her toy and told her boss she's taking the box upstairs (to the party room). Cricket felt offended when Dazzle asked for her toy to be added to the box and said phrases to mean 'she's not leaving her sight' even when Butterbean insists she gives her out especially if she's not playing with her anymore. Poppy came to the café and asked Butterbean what she should make for the playgroup and she replied a suggestion – elephant ears. Cricket thought she meant they were going to roast Cinnamon's ears for them, but instead Poppy told her what her big sister meant was a type of pastry, much to her relief. Butterbean connected her bean screen to the Beanitor and showed them the procedure. Butterbean asked Cinnamon what she thinks of it and her big sister replied for her to invoke a giggle out of Poppy, who said afterwards she hopes the kids' parents like them. Butterbean told them they'll be in the café and they should start making them, which they did accompanied by the tune of "Let's Get Cooking!".
Ms. Gateau and her son Hamilton came to the café to be greeted by Dazzle and Cricket. Dazzle asked Hamilton if he would like to come upstairs to play and escorted him there which was appreciated verbally by his mother. Cricket asked her big sister if all the kids are present and she replied they by her thoughts are waiting for just one more. A second later, Mrs. Bloombrook came with her little daughter Skylar, who she says and it is shown she's a little shy – even hiding behind her mother when Butterbean greeted her. The latter told her little sister to take her upstairs. Mrs. Bloombrook joined the two adults at the closest table for tea. At the party room, Cricket brought Skylar close to the toy boxes, with the latter seeing a kid saying what she's doing – riding a truck, the other boys riding toy airplanes. She showed a typical shy face and shook her head everytime Cricket showed her some toys, like a teddy bear, a doll or dollie and some building blocks. She vented her frustration to the viewer(s) that she has nothing that Skylar wants to play with. After Cricket showed her a toy lorry and she shook her head, Butterbean came with some vegetable snacks for the kids if they were hungry. Butterbean asked her if she wanted snacks or have anything to play with, but not wanting to talk, shook her head once more. Before she could ask the next question, Skylar said she wanted to go home; she and her little sister looked at each other feeling a bit puzzled. Butterbean summarized what she's seen so far in the party room.
She requested going back to her "mommy" and Butterbean escorted her to Mrs. Bloombrook with Cricket looking confused; Skylar sat next to her mother. Cricket wanted her big sister's explanation why she doesn't want to play with any of the toys they have, but her reply was, it wasn't the toys, but rather nervousness about playing with a new group of kids. The only male parent present asked Butterbean for more tea when she has the chance, which she certainly replied. Poppy asked Cricket for assistance with what she's bringing from the kitchen and she took the straw holder. Arranging the fruit-and-vegetable combo buffet with Cricket, Poppy asked her why the unhappy look on her face; she replied pointing to Skylar and why she's a little nervous in playing with anyone. Poppy suggested Cricket had a solution; what she herself would do when she was nervous. She saw Cinnamon and got her answer. She told the viewer(s) what the answer she got was.
Dazzle and Poppy finalized the buffet and the parents took their plates to go for some of theirs, which gave Cricket the chance to introduce and give Cinnamon to Skylar. She whispered something to her ear and Cricket wanted to know what she said. She requested for and collected Cinnamon back so she can "converse" with it. Cricket requested Skylar for her toy if she wanted to go upstairs and play with the kids there and she replied positively, taking Cinnamon with her. Butterbean and Mrs. Bloombrook watched with visible pride as both little girls headed for the party room. Skylar introduced Cinnamon to them and asked if she could play with them. They agreed and the female kid amongst them asked her if she could play with them; Skylar agreed with the aid of Cricket's nod. As they gave her some building blocks for a start, Cricket felt proud for her stuffed animal. Butterbean brought the tray of "elephant ears" to the kids who couldn't wait to try some, making her giggle, but not until she does the fairy finish on them. She does with an elephant bean and the "ears" were shared amongst them so they could dig in. Butterbean wanted to know if it was okay for Skylar to play with Cinnamon and Cricket said she felt she needed her, making her proud. She refered to her as "big sister" which brought a coo out of her mouth. As Poppy and Dazzle came in with trays of parfaits, Butterbean reiterated to the viewer(s) that it was always nice to have a friend you can talk to when you're nervous or shy, someone with good listening ears like elephant ears. She puled out each half of an "elephant ear" and moved them close to her ears as she said the last part of her phrase and giggled.
