Summary/Description[]

Cricket's noisy ways keep ruining two straight soufflé for the Brookbinders' anniversary. Will she find a way to put her noisiness to good use?

Plot[]

Cricket was drumming with spoons on a stack of a model of "drums" made up of saucers, saucepans, bowls and mugs while Dazzle initially sends some cups of tea then packages cookies, Butterbean initially serving some customers then handling a tray of cups and Jasper coming into the café's main area with a package. The three gathered close to Cricket for her final flourish after which they cheered and she accepted. With her big sister and Dazzle returning to the kitchen, Cricket asked Jasper if he could play the mugs, but he declined as he's going on a delivery. So she instead resumes while he leaves, just about when the Brookbinders entered. She stopped playing when she saw a mixture of confusion and disgust from their faces at her and asked them what they thought of it. Mr. Brookbinder uttered loud which she accepted regardless. Butterbean appreciated her little sister for what she called concert and asked them what they wanted after welcoming them. Mrs. Brookbinder wanted to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Dazzle came out to get surprised at Mr. Brookbinder utter "50 wonderful years"; when she asked for clarification, he just replied 'a long time'. When Butterbean asked them what her team can do to celebrate, Mrs. Brookbinder asked for a "nice little" dessert and explained her husband's description of "quiet" that he doesn't like much noise. Poppy who came into the main area with some chocolate muffins suggested a chocolate soufflé. Butterbean liked it and explained its look to them. Mrs. Brookbinder commented on it as lovely and her husband linked it to her so as to bud noses (the equivalence to a romantic gesture of real-life humans) before they left the café. Poppy thought of it as "tricky" as they're hard to make. Butterbean mentioned the procedure as she projected it on her bean screen tablet. Poppy added they needed to be careful and when Cricket asked why, her big sister replied the soufflés would collapse with any loud noise until they cool off, resembling it to if a balloon loses all its air. Poppy mentioned "Let's Get Cooking!" and Butterbean and Poppy made the soufflé accompanied with the song, during which Cricket set up the table and made a beat with her spoons.

Butterbean told the viewer(s) exactly what she told her little sister about what would happen if there was noise while the soufflé cools. Poppy took the soufflé out of the oven and on the cooling metal. It wasn't a minute later when Cricket came in with saucepan covers and clashed them, making the soufflé puff fully and collapse. She saw it and apologized but the girls worried less as they could make another one. Butterbean cautioned her little sister to be quiet the next time and she replied that she and Cookie would make themselves quieter. She told exactly the same thing to the viewer(s) about not making any more noise. Poppy sent a fresh second soufflé into the oven and Butterbean vowed to be quiet as a butterfly. In the main area, Cricket told Cookie not to make any noise while she is drawing. She pulled a squeaky toy and and saw it wasn't quiet enough, then she pulled out a bouncing ball and gave it to Cookie to play with. She instead moved it towards the kitchen as Dazzle was about to enter with a tray of used mugs and straws. With the ball in stealth silence, Dazzle unknowingly stepped on it and screamed as she fell in a heap out of sight. Cricket gasped as she moved inside. She apologized to Dazzle as Butterbean helped her to her feet but Dazzle forgave her and wasn't sure about the soufflé which puffed out fully again. Cricket felt bad as she shared her disappointment with the viewer(s) worrying if Poppy can't make another soufflé in time. Dazzle accepted her apology but shares in the worry of the Brookbinders getting to the café soon. Poppy thought to them they can make one more soufflé if they hurry and Cricket vowed she and Cookie would not make even a sound for the rest of the day. Butterbean literally had her fingers crossed to the viewer(s) about the perfect soufflé for the Brookbinders.

The Brookbinders came into the café and Butterbean asked them how their day was. Between them they replied "lovely, nice and quiet". Butterbean told them their soufflé is in the oven and they've set up a special table for them upstairs (in the party room). Dazzle escorted them there while she checks on the soufflé in the kitchen. She was pleased with its look which Poppy appreciated and wanted "a little bean magic", i.e the fairy finish on the soufflé. Butterbean did with the Puffy bean with the aim of making it extra puffy and being pleased with the out come told the viewer(s) that IS a soufflé.

Dazzle served some juice and informed them their special anniversary dessert, i.e. the soufflé is arriving. But when the lid was raised the soufflé began puffing out of control, almost becoming a self-puffing balloon. Poppy suggested poking it with a spoon, it didn't work, Butterbean suggested clapping for it to collapse but it got growing and enlarging. The latter's last resort was to get her little sister to resort back to making bang noises again to collapse the soufflé. She came to the party room to see it for herself and made the gesture of mouth unzip as she called for spoons. She hit the glass cup models with them for the soufflé to collapse and in between, Mr. Brookbinder, who mentioned earlier he hates noise, joined in while jamming to the rhythm with his own type of bang noise. Dazzle and Poppy clapped and joined in as well. With the final flourish, the soufflé puffed out and Butterbean apologized to them about its outcome. But Mr. Brookbinder rather alluded to not having this much fun since he got married, i.e. for 50 years. His wife tasted it and implored him to taste as well as it was really good. He wanted to make more bang noise afterwards. While he had fun, Butterbean reiterated to the viewer(s) how days are different at the café, some quiet and some not so much. But she assured them that they have a fairy good time regardless and Cricket signed off the episode with another clash of the saucer covers.

Trivia[]

  • The confusing part of whoever watches this episode was Mr. Brookbinder saying he hates noise, yet when it was necessary he jammed to it as if he was either lying or got used to it but didn't want to show it.
  • On August 13, 2021, when this show was pulled from the Nick Jr. Channel's lineup, this was the last episode to be broadcast.
