The Sweetest Ride is the 8th episode of Butterbean's Café released on Nickelodeon US and online on November 16, 2018, on Nick Jr. globally on January 11, 2019 and on Treehouse in Canada on January 13, 2019. It is combined with the next episode; A Grilled Cheese for the Big Cheese! for the 5th episode of the first season.
Summary/Description[]
Butterbean has a hard time delivering Mr. Brookwrench's snack to him, which he isn't surprised given her delivery truck is outdated or could use a tune-up.
Plot[]
At sunny Puddlebrook, Butterbean and her her little sister went inside the café to greet Dazzle and Poppy, the latter having put down a tray of freshly-baked lemon poppy seed muffins on the counter. After Butterbean went to put on her worksuit, the smell was telling. Poppy told them they are flavored with the more-than-ripe lemons Jasper brought from the grove the previous day. Butterbean gave Cricket napkins to put on the tables in the main area. Cricket asked her big sister if they could do something fun; her reply was related to café matters as she loves cooking, but Cricket was instead relating to outside fun. Poppy asked Dazzle if she has ordered whole wheat flour, and she has! Before Butterbean could answer her sister's question of whether they can do something together, the café phone rang. Cricket began to look sad as she talked to Mr. Lingonberry, who was ordering a fruit salad for a group of people. Butterbean hanged up and turned to see her little sister cut a dejected figure, and brought up "sister day" (which she later told the viewer(s) it was to enlighten her little sister's mood as she's been seriously helpful in the café since its launch). Dazzle added it to he reminders and calendar.
Mr. Brookwrench came in and ordered a snack for his team as a surprise for working really hard. Poppy, who came into the main area to put down fresh cupcakes/muffins in the counter drawer just as Butterbean asked him what he came to the café for, suggested a pizza shaped like a car and Butterbean suggested a bagel that looks like a tyre/tire. The latter was agreed by all and Mr. Brookwrench went to pay for it with his credit card, saying he can't wait to see it and eat it. After he left the café, he saw Jasper coming with the outdated delivery truck. He told him he should bring it to his tyre/tire shop before it breaks down as it could use a tune-up. Butterbean broadcasted the recipe of via her bean screen to the Beanitor and The Bean Team made them with the rolling of Let's Get Cooking!. Cricket saw it as small but Butterbean said it needs the fairy finish, which she did with a bigger bean. She and Poppy carried it inside the rear end of the delivery after Dazzle packed it in a specialized box and told her little sister she'll try and be back in time for sister day, after which she gave her kiss on the cheek. Cricket told the viewer(s) what she and Butterbean will do for sister day.
Butterbean was riding down across town until the truck could go no further. With only herself and the viewer(s) to talk to, she tried carrying it and flying, but it was way too heavy. Then she tried rolling it until she reached the end of a slope. As soon as she left it to take a breather, it began accelerating away from her and she thought it will be mushed up. Instead luck made it bounce onto the outside bench at the tyre/tire shop where she concluded: "Sometimes, things have a way of working out." and giggled. Mr. Brookwrench called out his crew to come have lunch which Butterbean unwrapped. He uttered his shock as to why she brought it herself all the way from the café. But after Butterbean said what he saw about the truck Jasper rode earlier, he became unsurprised and said he was going to bring it with his tow truck and repair it. Butterbean appreciated it and said she doesn't want to be late as Cricket is expecting her. She left and back at the café, Cricket was getting worried that she isn't coming, but Dazzle assured her. Not a moment sooner, she arrived and they began the array of "sister day" accompanied by the rolling of A Fairy Happy Day!. Both sisters told the viewer(s) and Dazzle how it went/fared afterwards.
A second later, Mr. Brookwrench arrived in his tow truck with the repaired delivery truck. They exchanged welcomes and the bean team wanted to know what is under the cover. He told Cricket to see it for herself and had her eyes lit up happily. He then told Butterbean, who used her whisk to whisk away the cover so it can be revealed. "Woos", "aahhhs" and "whoooaas" filled the mouths of the bean team as they looked through the outside and inside of the delivery truck, which they named "The Sweet Ride". Butterbean told them to get in the vehicle and take it out for a spin. After a minute, Butterbean summarized how the day turned out for her and the entire team. Cricket came in to hug her big sister to close out the episode.
